Please note: There was a change in the exam schedule.  Wednesday, March 10th will have our 2nd KINETICS EXAM and NOT the toxicology exam.  Wednesday, March 24th(week after spring break) will have our 1st TOXICOLOGY EXAM and NOT the Kinetics exam.  They have been switched because Dr. Ray can not make it on March 10th.

INFORMATION REGARDING SURVEYS FOR THE YEARBOOK:

Please print the following and bring it to class for Wednesday, February 10th

There are 3 lines for people whom you can choose- you do not have to choose 3 people, you may put 1-3 people (whatever you want to do). Once all of the surveys are collected, all the information will be gathered and than an online survey with the top 4-5 people will be posted for everyone to pick anonymously.

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED all students attend the dean's hour on Monday, February 8th at 11am in HS 107.  There will be 6th year students along with residents providing great advice for our rotations.

    American Society of Health-System Pharmacists

  Dean's Hour Program on Monday, Feb 8th in HS 107 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Topic: "All about 6th Year Rotations"

Guest speakers: current P-6 students and a PGY-1 resident who will talk about the following:

1. What to expect in Internal 1 and 2

2. How to better prepare for these rotations

3. How much knowledge is expected of us as 6th year students

4. How to make the most of this experience

5. What to look out for

6. Give the students some hints and suggestions on how to maximize our performance using the least amount of time...Time Management...

7. Some suggestions on how to prepare for presentations and/or journal clubs

  

  

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 6TH YEAR ROTATIONS:

Please remember the advanced pharmacy practice experience schedule is DUE BY: WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10th and also if you are interested in one of those electives on the separate handout that was given out.

HEALTH FORMS will be collected starting THURSDAY, APRIL 1ST and the last possible day to hand in the forms will be FRIDAY, APRIL 30TH.  There was a checklist handed out which you should follow to make sure you have all the following items before handing it in.  

If you don't remember your username and password to EMS please email Ms. Durrani as soon as possible.

Lastly, please check the website frequently and also your LIU emails for updates from the experimential office.

Pharmacy Career Fair Prep Workshop:

The College of Pharmacy will hold its annual Career Fair on Wednesday, February 24 from 10 - 2 p.m. in the Paramount Gym. P-6 students will be on campus for their Grand Rounds Program. P-3, P-4 and P-5 students are welcome to attend and meet recruiters and representatives of pharmacy chains, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies.

Some attendees will be looking to fill intern positions as well as pharmacist positions.

In order for you to go there prepared, the Office of Career Services is offering 3 Resume and Interview Preparation Workshops over the next three weeks:

       Monday, February 1 from 11 - 12 in HS 121

       Monday, February 8 from 11 - 12 in HS 121

       Tuesday, February 16 from 11 - 12 in HS 121 (Tues. follows a Mon. schedule)

Bring your resume. Bring your questions. Be prepared.
